“Sempiternal Cells” was a garment constructed for Meow Wolf’s Convergence Station - “Absolute Rubbish: a Trashion Show” fashion event.
…”sempiternal cells" is a garment inspired by the workings of every plant cell to create blooming life.
sempiternal means ever lasting, which refers to the plastic, used in this piece, and cells refers to the weavings throughout the piece which resemble the tiny blocks that are inside each plant working to keep it alive and blooming.
I used colors that are adjacent to plant life but also somewhat off (like blues and pinks) to comprise an otherworldly dimension that I am frequently inspired by in my work.
I composed the garment by cutting plastic pieces into long strips and braiding them into the dress structure.

“Fever Dream” was a handmade collection shown at The Blossom House during the Blooming Radiance Upcycled fashion show (curated by Katessia Robertson) on February 2nd, 2022.
Using themes such as nostalgia, nightmares, psychedelics, and the all encompassing bad and good emotions that come along with these experiences, I sewed 10 different custom looks to emulate an otherworldly, but slightly comforting, slightly scary, cohesive collection. I used custom fabrics as well as upcycled fabric, vintage dresses, and thrift-store-sourced early AI nightmare prints for the patterns of the garments, I then used screen printing, appliqué, sublimation printing, drawing and spray paint for the designs.
