when we are young, we dont have the same harsh /self/ judgement about whart art we should make or how we should act or imaginary creature friends
that comes after a realization of ourselves vs others
I think creation for me in general is a safe space is where u can be in experimental with whoever you want to be or whereever you want to be, anything can happen in that soace because you are in control of it & mask free.

y2k is what i grew up around
im very nostalgic for design that had personality vs the minimalism thats more popular today in retail stores
it had lots of character and personality, such as video game consoles and phones lended more customization and had specific characters embedded in them
DS console with the bird character

found materials is like a treasure hunt
more rewarding when you find something
when you buy secondhand materials ttheyre usually not correct size, so you have to peice together multiple fabrics which can be a fun challenge and creature more interesting textures like a patchwork puzzle
#4
certain items only work for certain fabrics, having a good collection of items that can work for different materials
drawn to colors first, i love purples, pinks, blues
interesting textures like satin, fur
patterns of really any kind
shiny items like sequins, gems, beads, holographic foil

definitely inspired by different shapes nature lends
plant imagerey doesnt always have an attached meaning and can be more abstract
i also think it does kind of have a fantasy element to it mostly because of movies and books and that,
lots of parts of nature are unreachable and that can lend a lot of mystery, such as a dark forest
#6
lots of stories/world building has a light vs dark element
to me even the dark aesthetics are part of my youth because i have always been drawn to the evil castle fairy chatacters in games/film
much live the dark forest, i think an “evil” aesthetic lends a lot of mystery which can be interesting to explore, lighthearted imagery is lovely but doesnt lend much exploration
the way light reflects off metal is so fun and challenging to paint

ive definitely always been interested in an ephemeral type of art that really lends exploration to experiencing it in the moment
when i first started showing my work i did a lot of casual pop up events with my friends, and i noticed how much people wanted to touch the objects mostly because of setting we were in
also when i started selling pieces i think people resonated with things more that were tangible, which definitely made me change the way i looked at it funny enough.
